MP&Fโs commitment to providing solid strategic counsel has been a hallmark of this agency for more than three decades. Whatโs changing today are the tools at our disposal to implement strategies, deliver messages and track results. Our menu of services now includes: Integrated marketing: We have enhanced our marketing capabilities by developing a data-driven, integrated approach under …
MP&F is all-in on transit
Iโm proud of the great job weโve done. I just voted FOR transit, and hereโs why: Itโs an investment in infrastructure, like water pipes, electric lines, sidewalks and fiber, we have to make for the good of the city. Itโll cost each of us about 17 cents per day over the 25-year life of the investment. That is not unreasonable, and tourists will help us pay for it. It will start by helping those who need it most. The first thing that will happen if we vote yes will be major improvements in our bus system. New buses, more frequency, …
Congratulations to Chad Raphael, MP&F CFO, on being a finalist for the NBJโs CFO-of-the-Year Award
Iย am a big fan of accountants, an appreciation I developed back in the early 1990s when I worked with ADT Automotive and its CEO, Mike Richardson. Mike was/is an accountant who rose through the ranks at ADT to eventually run the company. He was a visionary whose deep financial knowledge underpinned every decision he made, and had much to do with the success of his company. At MP&F, the man with the accounting chops is CFO, Chad Raphael, who I am very happy to have nominated for the NBJโs CFO-of-the-Year Award. When I became managing partner at MP&F several years …
Mark McNeely Honored as the Nashville Emerging Leader 2016 Impact Award Winner
MP&Fโs founding partner, Mark McNeely, was recently presented with the Nashville Emerging Leader 2016 Impact Award by YP Nashville and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. The award honors a top Nashville leader who has made a significant impact on guiding and mentoring young professionals in the community. Since MP&Fโs doors opened in 1987, hundreds of PR pros and interns have contributed to the companyโs success. Mark has invested in the professional development of each and every one of them. Mark also supports communications students through his relationships with universities across the state and continued support of communications scholarships. In …
MP&F Awarded 2016 Top Workplace by the Tennessean
Iโm very proud to report that, for the fourth consecutive year, MP&F has been named a Top Workplace in Middle Tennessee by The Tennessean. What is especially gratifying is that the Top Workplaces list is based on the results of employee surveys. In speaking about the Top Workplace winners, Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics, which administers the contest, said, โTime and time again, our research has proven that whatโs most important to them [employees] is a strong belief in where theorganization is headed, how itโs going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.โ We work as a …
Missing Larry Daughtrey
The news of Larry Daughtreyโs death was hard to take for those of us who knew him well, especially those of us who were also close to Larryโs good friend Mike Pigott, who passed away less than a year ago. Larry and Mike were a lot alike. Both were men of few words, but those words were always well-chosen. People hung on those words, sometimes literally. They were droll wits โ old-school newspaper reporters who watched history unfold before them with a deadpan expression and summed things up with uncanny precision and brevity. Both preferred to do their talking through …
Working With Good Research
My colleagues Mark McNeely and Alice Chapman, along with an incredible MP&F team, have just completed a clean sweep of national awards honoring their work for the statewide โRed White and Foodโ campaign to allow the sale of wine in Tennessee retail food stores. Not only did they win โBest of Showโ at the local Parthenon Awards last spring, theyโve just completed the trifecta of national awards โ the SABRE Award, the Silver Anvil Award and the PRWeek Public Affairs Campaign of the Year award. For a Nashville public relations firm to claim all of these awards in one year …
Celebrating Decades in Downtown Nashville
A version of this post also appeared in The Tennessean. By David Fox Congratulations to the Downtown Partnership as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. As a partner in a company that has operated in downtown Nashville since 1987, I can say that it has made a difference for our city to have an organization like the DP totally focused on making our downtown as functional and user-friendly as possible. As my partner Mark McNeely, whoโs on the board of the DP, likes to say, โIf you want to make a difference in this city, being downtown is a big advantage.โ …
