Walmart is one of the world’s largest retailers. In Tennessee, Walmart is more than a place to shop. It’s an employer, a community partner, and an active contributor to local health care, sustainability, and economic development initiatives across the state.
When everyone already knows your name, the real work is making them feel something. We helped Walmart connect with Tennessee communities in ways that went beyond the brand, one human story at a time.

The Challenge
Sharing a Bigger Story
Walmart sought to strengthen its reputation at the local level, ensuring communities across Tennessee understood not just the scale of its business, but its tangible impact on health care, sustainability, economic development, and local giving.
For a brand as ubiquitous as Walmart, the challenge wasn’t awareness. It was relevance. We had to show up in meaningful, local ways that resonated with communities while showcasing key business priorities through earned media opportunities.

The Work
Connecting to Local Communities
We developed a targeted, localized earned media strategy designed to connect national brand priorities to real community impact. Rather than broad messaging, we prioritized specific, human-centered initiatives that demonstrate Walmart’s values in action.
One standout example was a community initiative supporting Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, which earned placement on WZTV Fox 17 and amplified Walmart’s community impact to a broad regional audience.

The results
Authenticity brings it home.
By focusing on real people and real outcomes, we made Walmart’s story feel personal, authentic, and grounded in the communities it serves.
