Lyft, the fastest-growing rideshare company in the U.S., has announced The Next Door as its June community grants program awardee. The program was introduced this year to support the important work of Nashville-area nonprofit organizations.
Each month, Lyft awards one nonprofit $1,000 in Lyft ride credits to ease transportation challenges and support its work to create positive change in Middle Tennessee. The Next Door is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services to women who are impacted by addiction, mental illness, trauma and/or incarceration with Christ-centered, compassionate care. A professional team of counselors, case managers, nurse practitioners, medical doctors, master’s-level social work interns, mentors and job coaches complete the staff to provide comprehensive coverage to residents’ needs.
“These women are working toward better lives for themselves, as well as their families,” said The Next Door’s CEO, Linda Leathers. “One of the basic necessities of recovery is attending treatment, and the ability to begin treatment starts with reliable transportation to and from our facility. We couldn’t thank Lyft enough for this grant. These ride credits will help these women continue down their road of recovery.”
The $1,000 in ride credit is awarded each month, and recipients are selected through a competitive application process. Any 501(c)(3) organization that operates in the Metro Nashville area is eligible to apply for a grant.
