Two veterans of the New York City family entertainment circuit – Grammy Award-winning kindie artist Tim Kubart and award-winning maker and vaudevillian Mario the Magician – will bring their music and magic experience to Opry Mills at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 29.
Together, Tim and Mario have performed to full houses at iconic venues such as Brooklyn Bowl, the Domain in Austin, the Bell House and beyond. Their tandem performance is pop meets vaudeville, with an emphasis on homegrown, handmade, DIY, imagination-enhancing artistic expression for all ages.

Shoppers getting an early start on their tax-free weekend shopping can catch the duo, get their face pointed and enjoy other fun activities at 1 p.m. at the Entertainment Stage, located in the entertainment wing of the shopping center between Claim Jumper and the Aquarium Restaurant.
Tim Kubart is a creator of infectious, original indie music for all ages. His latest album, “Home,” a pop celebration of the small moments in life, won a 2016 Grammy for Best Children’s Album. Tim is also host of “Sunny Side Up” on NBCUniversal’s Sprout Channel. He is perhaps best known as “Tambourine Guy” for the viral music collective Postmodern Jukebox. His live performance experience is vast and has culminated in some spectacular moments, like a live performance with his “Sunny Side Up” cast at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The original music Tim brings to family audiences is homemade, from scratch, with real life at front and center. He is dedicated to encouraging families to create together, invent and imagine.
Mario “the Magician” Marchese is an artist and inventor who creates his own props. He is known for dedication to the maker movement and STEAM/STEM initiatives and his clever and refreshing integration of DIY electronics and robotics into his performance. Despite his use of cutting-edge technology, he never sacrifices the old-school slapstick vibe that audiences so love. It’s vintage meets the future. Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin for the modern age. Mario has appeared on “Sesame Street” and live at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, World Maker Faire New York, the American Museum of Natural History and more. He is also the subject of indie documentary film “Building Magic,” which is currently making its rounds at film festivals.
