The Progressive® Insurance Nashville Boat Show®, Tennessee’s premier boating event, docks in the Music City Center, Thursday, Jan.18, through Sunday, Jan. 21. This year’s show has over 300 boats on display for attendees to view, board and buy, the latest in marine tech and accessories on display, educational opportunities, and fun for all ages and experience levels!
Kids and families will have endless opportunities for fun at this year’s show. New this year, Kendall Newson, a former Miami Dolphin and MTSU football player, will be on-site teaching a kids’ fishing clinic on behalf of his Teach a Child to Fish Foundation. There will also be a free catch-and-release trout pond for kids 10 and under, and kids will get to design their own (paper!) dream boat at the Create-A-Boat Kids’ Toy Boat Building feature. The Power Squadron Boating Simulator returns in 2018, along with the Progressive® Insurance Boat Club’s New Oculus Rift virtual reality experience, where visitors will put themselves at the helm of a virtual boat race.
The Progressive® Oculus Rift virtual reality experience will be part of the new Progressive® Boat Club. In this interactive space, attendees can boost their nautical know-how with topnotch mariners from the Annapolis School of Seamanship, teaching hands-on boating courses for all levels of experience. Plus, attendees can chat with a Progressive expert to ask any questions about boating coverage or get a free quote.
Educational opportunities abound at the show this year, with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency on hand with everything one needs to know about the outdoors, boating and fishing, including a Boater Education Class Certification on Friday and Saturday. This year’s show also features professional wake boarders and fishermen, including local fishing legend Joey Monteleone, who will teach his own class and offer tips to visitors. Attendees can also learn how to fine-tune their boats and engines from the experts at Fred’s Shed DIY.
And, of course, the Music City Center showroom will be loaded to the gills with every kind of boat imaginable. All boaters can find something they like at the Nashville Boat Show; whether that’s cruising, fishing, watersports or paddle boats, attendees will be able to find what they want within their budget.
