Marine Week Slips Into Nashville With Overnight Equipment Arrival, Sept. 6
On Tuesday, Sept. 6, during the early-morning hours, United States Marine Corps vehicles and equipment are scheduled to start arriving from Joint Base Berry to downtown Nashville. The military vehicles and equipment will be used as static displays and will be set up downtown at Riverfront Park. The arrival of this equipment is not a public event. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 26, 2016) – The Andrew Jackson Foundation has commissioned an introductory film for viewing at The Hermitage to prepare visitors for an insightful and rich visit. The film will debut – as part of programming designed to commemorate the 250th birthday of President Andrew Jackson – on March 15, 2017. After more than 16 months of public outreach and community engagement, the project team for the strategic planning process known as nMotion presented recommendations to the Boards of the Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (Nashville MTA) and Regional Transportation Authority of Middle Tennessee (RTA) today. After a presentation and discussion on the components of the plan, board members voted to send the recommendations out for public comments so that people have an opportunity to provide feedback prior to approval by the boards at their respective meetings next month.
