Blog on Writer’s Block Progressing Slowly, But in the Meantime …

Roger ShirleyBlog

After a two-year hiatus, I’ve decided to start posting the #RogerThat blog again on a regular basis. Sort of. I’m actually going to link to another blog to buy time while I continue working on a piece about overcoming writer’s block. I’ve been working on it now for 18 months, and I just can’t get past the first two paragraphs, which I have rewritten 37 times. So stay tuned. In the meantime, here’s a blog from my new friend Joe Diorio, a former journalist and PR pro who is now a “semiretired” writer and editor in Nashville. Thanks, Joe. http://conta.cc/2yKYJml

Fall Home Tour with Kirkland’s

Angela ArgiroBlog

As my colleague Taylor Smith mentioned last week on Engage, MP&F regularly works with bloggers to reach our clients’ audiences. One such client is Kirkland’s, a national specialty retailer of home décor with whom we’ve worked with for years on award-winning projects and campaigns. Last week we coordinated a Fall Home Tour with 33 bloggers from across the country. It was a huge success for our client, and it also reminded us what a great group of people bloggers are! MP&F worked with Kirkland’s to provide each blogger a gift card to shop at Kirkland’s and decorate their homes with …

Blogger Summit: Bringing influencers and brands together

MP&F StaffBlog

At MP&F, we work closely with clients who benefit from having a blogger/influencer strategy in their communications plans. These clients include, but are not limited to, Kirkland’s, The Hermitage, Renaissance Nashville Hotel and Opry Mills. ‘Blogger’ has become a permanent tab on many of our media lists, and we are always searching for new ways to work with this influential group of digital media contributors. Recently, we helped Opry Mills host a successful blogger summit with bloggers from ‘drive markets,’ –markets close enough for shoppers to drive to Opry Mills but outside the immediate vicinity. Our wonderful guests came to …

Experience vs. Energy

Angela ArgiroBlog

We live in a nation divided. And no, I’m not talking about political beliefs or gender wars. The latest variable is age. From baby boomers to Gen Z – the next generation on everyone’s radar – we live in fast-moving times, and everyone has an opinion. The generalized feeling of baby boomers is they want millennials to get off their phones, have face-to-face conversations, and stop being so entitled and lazy. After all, they had to walk to work uphill both ways in their heyday, so it’s only fair. On the other hand, millennials (myself included) – when taking a …

Eclipsing around one afternoon

MP&F StaffBlog

The solar event of a lifetime came to Nashville, and we at MP&F were lucky enough to have a front-row seat! Our internal “RAA-RAA” Committee planned several surprises to mark this special occasion. Everyone received a special black and white eclipse goody bag Monday morning filled with eclipse safety glasses, glow sticks and “solar snacks,” including Milk Ways, Eclipse gum, Starbursts and Capri Suns. The team then staked out a viewing spot on the lawn of the state Capitol, provided boxed lunches and created the perfect pump-up playlist for when Nashville went dark! Check out some photos of MP&Fers’ taking …

RAA-RAA Committee: The Fire Behind MP&F

MP&F StaffBlog

The MP&F motto, “Do Great Work, Have Fun, Make Money,” has stuck with me since the first day of my internship here. Before beginning at MP&F, I studied its portfolio and I was extremely impressed with its clientele. On my first day, however, something different stuck out to me. The people. It was immediately evident that company culture is at the forefront at MP&F Public Relations. “Have Fun” is what MP&F does. With the everyday stresses that come with working at an agency, MP&F knows that developing an enjoyable company environment is critical. I wondered how MP&F kept the energy in …
