Big changes are headed to Facebook (Now’s the time to get ready)

Leigh LindseyBlog, home, UncategorizedLeave a Comment

Last week Mark Zuckerberg announced that major changes are in the works at Facebook. The social network is shifting its algorithms again — this time to make sure you are seeing more content from family and friends. It’s likely that changes to Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, are on the way, too. According to Zuckerberg, the shift will take time, but you should see some changes in your news feed quickly. More content in your news feed from people that matter to you means less visibility for content from brands, businesses and news publishers. If your business relies on … Read More

MP&F’s Annual Retreat: Bonding, Reflecting and Planning

Tom HaydenBlog, homeLeave a Comment

We are intentional about the attention we give to our office culture. We want our team to be happy and fully engaged in our business. In the end, our clients reap the benefits. One centerpiece of our culture is our annual staff retreat. It is, and I say so confidently, the most highly anticipated MP&F event of the year. Retreat gives us a chance to take a collective breath to celebrate our clients’ successes, to bond and review the ups and downs of the past year. Perhaps more importantly, as a group that is obsessive about planning and delivering results, … Read More

After all, our motto is “Do Great Work, Have Fun, Make Money.” Whether it’s our just-held annual Halloween party, which many MP&F alumni attend, or the golden-toed Hackin’ Flacks showering glory on the office by winning the Mid-State Sports League’s Kickball Championship, we know how to have fun. Here is a blog in photos. MP&F Halloween Party                   The Hackin’ Flacks The Hackin’ Flacks in their championship glory celebrating a late-night 7–2 … Read More

Congratulations to Chad Raphael, MP&F CFO, on being a finalist for the NBJ’s CFO-of-the-Year Award

I am a big fan of accountants, an appreciation I developed back in the early 1990s when I worked with ADT Automotive and its CEO, Mike Richardson. Mike was/is an accountant who rose through the ranks at ADT to eventually run the company. He was a visionary whose deep financial knowledge underpinned every decision he made, and had much to do with the success of his company. At MP&F, the man with the accounting chops is CFO, Chad Raphael, who I am very happy to have nominated for the NBJ’s CFO-of-the-Year Award. When I became managing partner at MP&F several years … Read More

Fall Home Tour with Kirkland’s

Angela ArgiroBlogLeave a Comment

As my colleague Taylor Smith mentioned last week on Engage, MP&F regularly works with bloggers to reach our clients’ audiences. One such client is Kirkland’s, a national specialty retailer of home décor with whom we’ve worked with for years on award-winning projects and campaigns. Last week we coordinated a Fall Home Tour with 33 bloggers from across the country. It was a huge success for our client, and it also reminded us what a great group of people bloggers are! MP&F worked with Kirkland’s to provide each blogger a gift card to shop at Kirkland’s and decorate their homes with … Read More

Blogger Summit: Bringing influencers and brands together

MPF StaffBlogLeave a Comment

At MP&F, we work closely with clients who benefit from having a blogger/influencer strategy in their communications plans. These clients include, but are not limited to, Kirkland’s, The Hermitage, Renaissance Nashville Hotel and Opry Mills. ‘Blogger’ has become a permanent tab on many of our media lists, and we are always searching for new ways to work with this influential group of digital media contributors. Recently, we helped Opry Mills host a successful blogger summit with bloggers from ‘drive markets,’ –markets close enough for shoppers to drive to Opry Mills but outside the immediate vicinity. Our wonderful guests came to … Read More

Whether you are in the business of networking or sales, looking for your first job or a new job, or searching for your next office superstar, LinkedIn is a powerful tool. The site has 500 million users worldwide, 106 million are monthly active users, and 40 percent of those are on the site daily. There are 1.5 million industry groups having conversations and connecting right now – these are conversations and connections you don’t want to miss out on. One of my favorite parts of my job is being able to speak to various groups about properly using this platform. … Read More

Experience vs. Energy

We live in a nation divided. And no, I’m not talking about political beliefs or gender wars. The latest variable is age. From baby boomers to Gen Z – the next generation on everyone’s radar – we live in fast-moving times, and everyone has an opinion. The generalized feeling of baby boomers is they want millennials to get off their phones, have face-to-face conversations, and stop being so entitled and lazy. After all, they had to walk to work uphill both ways in their heyday, so it’s only fair. On the other hand, millennials (myself included) – when taking a … Read More

Eclipsing around one afternoon

The solar event of a lifetime came to Nashville, and we at MP&F were lucky enough to have a front-row seat! Our internal “RAA-RAA” Committee planned several surprises to mark this special occasion. Everyone received a special black and white eclipse goody bag Monday morning filled with eclipse safety glasses, glow sticks and “solar snacks,” including Milk Ways, Eclipse gum, Starbursts and Capri Suns. The team then staked out a viewing spot on the lawn of the state Capitol, provided boxed lunches and created the perfect pump-up playlist for when Nashville went dark! Check out some photos of MP&Fers’ taking … Read More

RAA-RAA Committee: The Fire Behind MP&F

MPF StaffBlogLeave a Comment

The MP&F motto, “Do Great Work, Have Fun, Make Money,” has stuck with me since the first day of my internship here. Before beginning at MP&F, I studied its portfolio and I was extremely impressed with its clientele. On my first day, however, something different stuck out to me. The people. It was immediately evident that company culture is at the forefront at MP&F Public Relations. “Have Fun” is what MP&F does. With the everyday stresses that come with working at an agency, MP&F knows that developing an enjoyable company environment is critical. I wondered how MP&F kept the energy in … Read More
