MP&F Strategic Communications Names Alice Chapman Managing Partner

By MP&F Staff

MP&F Strategic Communications has named Alice Chapman managing partner of the firm.

The move is part of a strategic initiative begun several years ago to ensure that MP&F will be sustained as an independent, locally owned agency beyond the original partners. That plan included bringing on next generation of equity partners. Chapman was named a partner in 2011, and 27-year MP&F veteran Jennifer Brantley became a partner in 2017.

The 32-year-old public relations firm has 72 employees and annual revenues in excess of $9 million. MP&F is a seven-time winner of the prestigious Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America, and its work on behalf of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee to combat the state’s opioid epidemic was named Best of Show by PRSA in 2018.

David Fox, one of the original partners, previously served in the management role and will remain an active full-time partner in the firm. The firm’s other partners are Katy Varney, who joined MP&F as a partner in 1993, and Keith Miles, who came on board in 1995 and was named a partner in 1998.

“Alice is a consummate communications professional and a community leader in Nashville,” Fox said. We are excited that Alice will now step into the managing partner role during a time of tremendous growth for our company.”

Chapman joined MP&F in 1995 and advanced to become a senior manager and ultimately an equity owner of the company. She works with clients across the Southeast in a variety of industries, including health care, technology and education. She counts grassroots campaigns and public policy initiatives among her specialties.

“My entire career has been spent at MP&F, and it has been rewarding beyond my wildest expectations,” Chapman said. “I’m looking forward to adding this new role and continuing to work with my clients and the staff.”

Chapman is actively involved in the Nashville community. She serves on the Nashville Auditorium Commission and is a member of the Downtown Nashville Rotary Club. She is immediate past board president of Communities In Schools of Tennessee, and volunteers with the literacy nonprofit Book’em. She recently completed a three-year term as an executive committee member of the Public Relations Society of America’s Counselors Academy.
