FirstBank Promotes Lankford to Franklin City President

FirstBank LankfordVeteran banker Mary Lankford has been promoted to Franklin City President for FirstBank, Middle Tennessee President Allen Oakley has announced.

Lankford previously was Vice President and Manager of FirstBank’s downtown Franklin financial center, which opened in the historic Five Points U.S. Post Office building on Columbia Avenue. In her new role, Lankford will take on additional responsibilities for business and relationship development, as well as enhancing community partnerships in Williamson County.

“Mary is a tremendous banker and one of the city’s biggest boosters,” said FirstBank Middle Tennessee Chairman Gordon Inman, whose office is at the Downtown Franklin location just off Main Street. “She has done a great job as our financial center manager, and we look forward to her increased contributions to FirstBank’s growth in Franklin as City President.

Lankford is a Middle Tennessee native who has lived in Franklin for the past 35 years. She joined FirstBank in March 2014, prior to the opening of the Downtown Franklin office, bringing more than 30 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining FirstBank, Lankford served for 10 years as senior vice president, director of community relations and private client services for Tennessee Commerce Bank. She previously was a senior vice president at Franklin National Bank and president of Lankford Mortgage.

She has been actively involved in the community, serving on a number of civic boards, including Historic Carnton Plantation, Franklin Tomorrow, Friends of Franklin Parks, Heritage Foundation, Williamson County United Way and the Williamson County Heart Association. She currently is on the board of trustees of O’More College of Design and is a member of the Franklin Public Building Authority.

“I have really enjoyed working with FirstBank and helping it establish a strong presence in the Franklin community,” Lankford said. “We have such a great business climate and quality of life here, and I’m ready to help us build on the foundation that the FirstBank team has established.”
